Ingredients
- Filling: 16 oz cream cheese (softened), 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/2 cup Bailey’s Irish Cream, 1/2 cup
- cocoa powder, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 cup heavy cream (whipped).
- Cake: 1 box chocolate cake mix (prepared as directed and cubed).
- Topping: 1 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla.
- Garnish: Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder.
Instructions
- Bake: Prepare and bake chocolate cake as directed. Let cool, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
- Make Filling: Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, Bailey’s, cocoa powder, and
- vanilla. Mix until smooth. Gently fold in 1 cup of whipped heavy cream.
- Layer: In a large trifle dish, alternate layers of chocolate cake cubes and the chocolate cheesecake filling.
- Top: Whip the remaining heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Spread over the final layer.
- Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) to allow layers to set and flavors to meld.
- Garnish: Dust with cocoa powder or chocolate shavings just before serving.
